Incident Statistics 2002
                                  DEFINITIONS

FDR1 Fire :- A fire with an insurable loss such as property, cars etc.

FDR3 Fire :- A fire involving rubbish, grass, waste materials etc.

UwFS/FADA:-Unwanted Fire Signal/False Alarm Due To Apparatus
This when a fire alarm system operates due to a non-
fire situation such as steam, fumes from cooking,
fumes from welding equipment for example setting
off a smoke detector and raising the alarm.

FAGI          :- False Alarm Good Intent. This where someone
genuinely thinks there is a fire emergency and calls
the fire service. Typical reasons are people seeing
smoke rising that turns out to be controlled burning off,
or someone who can smell something burning that
turns out to be smoke from controlled burning drifting
into a nearby building. Smoke from barbecues being
mistaken for a house on fire etc.

Malicious
(Mal)          :- A hoax call

Special
Service Call
Emergency
(SSC E)     :- Calls to incidents of a non-fire situation but still
classed as an emergency such as vehicle crashes,
                     train accidents, incidents involving hazardous
                     substances, animal rescues, floodings etc.
